When the system is
started, all users are required to Log On with a recognised User Name and a
valid Password. This will determine the operating level of the user
and his/her identity for various actions where appropriate. A log is
maintained of all user activities in the system and this log is just one of
the many utility functions accessible from the Utilities menu.
A number of user-defined list are used for data entry
- these are mainly dynamic in that when a new entry is detected during data
entry, the user has an option to store the new entry. These lists are
viewed and maintained using the Utilities menu. Equally, the
multi-level passwords used in the system can be changed using this menu
together with a variety of utilities to repair and maintain data tables.
Only users at supervisor level or above have access to
the Utilities menu.
